Evan Fournier discusses Olympiacos, coach Bartzokas, and teammate Dorsey
Olympiacos guard Evan Fournier addressed several internal and external topics during an interview on Magenta TV’s ‘Pick n Roll’. Regarding teammate Tyler Dorsey, Fournier expressed surprise at Dorsey’s recent social media activity, stating that such issues should be handled internally rather than publicly. He expressed confidence that Dorsey has regretted the move and emphasized the need for the team to remain united like a ‘tight fist’.
Fournier also spoke highly of head coach Georgios Bartzokas, noting that while the coach displays intense passion and emotion on the sidelines during games, he is a kind and caring individual who is deeply invested in his players’ well-being in daily practice.
Addressing the rivalry between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, Fournier noted that while the intense competition is good for the Greek league, certain social media behaviors from official accounts can harm the sport's image. He stated that despite personal friendships with French players on Panathinaikos, he maintains professional boundaries during the season, noting, ‘It is red against green.’
Additionally, Fournier reported that he will be sidelined for approximately 20 days due to injuries, including a hematoma on his left shoulder and a ligament strain in his right knee.
