Evan releases debut solo mini album ‘DEATH OF ME’
K-pop soloist Evan, formerly known as Heeseung of the group ENHYPEN, released his first mini album, ‘DEATH OF ME’, on September 7. During a media showcase at Kyung Hee University in Seoul, the artist discussed his transition to a solo career under Belift Lab and his creative involvement in the eight-track project.
Evan revealed that the title track, ‘Death of Me’, is a pop R&B song that reflects his personal history, including his experience battling malignant lymphoma as a child. He noted that the song’s theme of resolve stems from his desire to survive and move forward after facing life-threatening challenges.
Addressing his departure from ENHYPEN, Evan stated that his decision to pursue a solo path was made after extensive discussions with his company. While he declined to comment on why he could not release solo music while still in the group, he expressed pride in ENHYPEN’s recent achievements, including their Billboard 200 success.
