Evan Stewart arrested for DUII in Springfield, Oregon

University of Oregon wide receiver Evan Stewart was arrested early Sunday morning in Springfield, Oregon, on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII).

According to police reports, officers stopped Stewart’s vehicle on Highway 126 near Mohawk Boulevard at approximately 5 a.m. after suspecting driver impairment. Stewart was booked into the Springfield Municipal Jail and released later that same day.

Stewart, a 23-year-old fifth-year senior, currently leads the Ducks in receptions this season with 37 catches for 352 yards and four touchdowns. A spokesperson for Oregon athletics stated that the university is aware of the incident and is currently gathering information. This incident follows a previous DUII charge involving Oregon running backs coach Ra’shaad Darnell Samples in April.
