Evander Kane responds to teammate's bullying allegations

NHL forward Evander Kane has responded to public criticism from former teammate Kurtis Gabriel regarding his conduct during the 2020–21 season with the San Jose Sharks. In a recent episode of the San Jose Hockey Now podcast, Gabriel described Kane as a “disgusting teammate” and a “typical bully,” alleging that Kane frequently arrived late to meetings in casual attire while others were in formal wear. Gabriel suggested that Kane’s behavior caused massive issues within the locker room.

Kane addressed these allegations on the social media platform X, stating that he is prepared to share “my truths” which will include “facts, receipts, and the actual truth.” He suggested that others have become too comfortable speaking publicly under the assumption that he would remain silent, hinting that he possesses information involving other names.

Kane, who was the Sharks' leading scorer during the 2020–21 season, had his contract terminated by the team during the 2021–22 season. He has since played for the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks and is currently without an NHL contract.
