Evangelical schools hold specialist day on democracy and diversity

The Evangelische Schulstiftung in the EKBO held a foundation-wide specialist day focused on ‘Democracy and Diversity’ at the Evangelisches Gymnasium zum Grauen Kloster. Approximately 100 participants, including students, teachers, and staff from 36 Evangelical schools, gathered to discuss participation, co-determination, and how democracy can be integrated into daily school life.

The event featured workshops and input from representatives of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), including EKD Council Chair Kirsten Fehrs and council members Nicole Grochowina and Stefan Werner. Student representatives opened the day with a discussion panel, sharing experiences regarding diversity and exclusion, and proposing ways to improve democratic involvement in school routines.
