Evangelistria Museum in Nafplio undergoes icon restoration

Conservation efforts are underway at the Ecclesiastical Museum of the Holy Church of Evangelistria in Nafplio, Greece. The project aims to preserve and highlight the region's ecclesiastical and cultural heritage by restoring sacred icons that have suffered from age, damage, and color fading.

Key works being restored include an 1887 icon depicting Archangel Michael and the Honorable Forerunner, as well as an icon of Saint Panteleimon. The restoration process, approved by the Ministry of Culture, involves specialized technicians and conservators using scientific methods to restore the artistic value and details of the pieces for future generations.
