Evansville and Northern Iowa secure soccer victories

In Missouri Valley Conference soccer action, both the University of Evansville and the University of Northern Iowa secured victories.

The Evansville Aces defeated Drake 1-0. Carlos Iglesias scored the decisive goal in the 65th minute following an assist from Devin Shepherd. Goalkeeper Hugo Amo recorded two saves and his third clean sheet of the season to maintain the shutout. With this win, Evansville moves to 2-5-2 on the season and 1-0-0 in conference play.

Northern Iowa earned its first victory of the season by defeating Belmont 1-0. Ella Ubben scored the lone goal in the 34th minute. Goalkeeper Hailey Luedtke recorded ten saves to withstand 17 Belmont shot attempts and 13 corner kicks. The win ends a 14-game winless streak for the Panthers.
