Evansville Unveils First Public Graffiti Wall

A community art project will create Evansville, Indiana's first legal graffiti wall, offering a public space where anyone can add artwork under a few simple rules. The wall, donated by Paint & Carpet Depot, is set to open on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 3 to 6 p.m. at 520 N Main Street. Organizers Leah Miller, Nick Iaccarino and Ted O'Connell, together with the Jacobsville Area Community Corporation, plan a celebration that includes food trucks, music, an art fair and free paint for participants.

The wall is intended to evolve over time, with new artists painting over earlier work, reflecting the dynamic nature of graffiti culture. A posted sign will outline usage guidelines to keep the space respectful and community‑focused.
