Evaristo Hidrogo Sentenced to 40 Years for 244 kg Meth Trafficking in Texas

Thirty‑one‑year‑old Evaristo Hidrogo was sentenced on June 26 2026 by U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor to 40 years in prison after being convicted of possessing with intent to distribute more than 244 kg of 100 % pure methamphetamine. The indictment also included heroin, cocaine, and three firearms found in his possession.

Hidrogo’s arrest followed a high‑speed chase on November 18 2025. During the stop officers recovered 56 g of meth on his person, 823 g of meth, 301 g of heroin and 55 g of cocaine in his vehicle, and two firearms. A subsequent search of a Fort Worth storage facility uncovered the bulk of the meth seizure, while a residence yielded an additional 10 kg of meth and 2 kg of heroin. DEA Dallas Special Agent in Charge Joseph B. Tucker said the 480‑month sentence “sends an unmistakable message to those who flood North Texas communities with methamphetamine; you will be held accountable.”
