Evelyn Taocheng Wang presents Sweet Landscape exhibition in Bolzano

Artist Evelyn Taocheng Wang is presenting her exhibition, Sweet Landscape, at the Museion in Bolzano, Italy. Curated by Leonie Radine, the collection explores the concept of landscape as both a physical location and an internal, mental dimension.

Wang, who was born in Chengdu, China, in 1981 and raised between China and Europe, utilizes her dual cultural background to bridge Eastern and Western artistic traditions. Her works integrate Chinese cultural symbols, such as calligraphy and ink painting, with European visual and literary influences. The exhibition features recurring elements including handwritten text, specific color palettes, and symbolic details.

The works address complex themes such as migration, cultural hybridization, gender expression, and class belonging. By utilizing Bolzano, a city characterized by its linguistic and cultural crossroads, the exhibition reflects on fluid identities and the boundaries between the observed landscape and human perception.
