Events in Soria and Lomas address historical memory and state terrorism

Two distinct events focused on historical memory and human rights are scheduled for late October.

In Soria, Spain, the Fundación Jesús Pereda and Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) will host the 'Jornadas de Ilustración y Memoria' on October 27 and 28. The program centers on the collective work 'Lecciones Robadas. El Cómic', which utilizes graphic narratives to explore censored episodes of 20th-century Spanish history. Activities include a public roundtable at the Soria Public Library and a masterclass at the School of Art and Superior Design focusing on comic art as a pedagogical tool.

In Lomas de Zamora, Argentina, the municipality will host a talk titled 'Infancias y Terrorismo de Estado' at the Museo Americanista on October 28. Marking 50 years since the last civic-military dictatorship, the discussion aims to reflect on the impact of state repression on children and families. The panel features experts including lawyer Pablo Llonto, activist Angela Urondo Raboy, educator Nora Pulido, and sociologist Felicitas Elias.
