EVEO adopts Seagate’s Mozaic HAMR drives to boost Brazil data‑center efficiency

EVEO announced it will become the first Latin American company to deploy Seagate’s Mozaic platform, a next‑generation HAMR (Heat‑Assisted Magnetic Recording) hard‑disk solution. The firm has purchased 2 petabytes of the drives, which deliver more than 4 TB per platter and lower energy consumption by up to 45 % per terabyte.

The investment is aimed at meeting growing AI, big‑data and cloud workloads while offsetting component shortages. EVEO’s CTO Fabio Stein said the new technology will cut operating costs, improve margins and support the company’s plan to multiply its data‑center capacity. The rollout is supported by Seagate and Brazilian distributor Mazer, and is presented as a step toward higher storage density, reduced carbon footprint and greater equipment durability.
