Everest film broadcast on Italian television

The 2015 dramatic film “Everest,” directed by Baltasar Kormákur, is scheduled for broadcast on Italian television networks including Mediaset’s Su20 and Italia 2.

Based on Jon Krakauer’s book “Into Thin Air,” the film depicts the disastrous 1996 Mount Everest expedition. It follows climbers led by Rob Hall of Adventure Consultants and Scott Fischer as they attempt to reach the summit. The narrative details how organizational challenges, crowded base camps, and an unexpected blizzard led to a life-threatening crisis for the climbers.

The production features a cast including Josh Brolin, Jason Clarke, Robin Wright, and Jake Gyllenhaal. The film originally premiered at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival.
