Everlast has released his first studio album in eight years, titled ‘Embers to Ashes’. Released through his own Martyr Inc Records in partnership with Thirty Tigers and Regime Music Group, the project blends blues, Americana, rock, and hip-hop.
The album was produced by Yelawolf, a collaboration ten years in the making that began when the two met in Berlin. The record reflects a turbulent decade for the artist, including the loss of his Los Angeles home in the 2018 Woolsey fire, a divorce, and the global pandemic.
Tracks such as ‘Stones’ and ‘Love Don’t Heal’ explore themes of forgiveness and heartbreak, while ‘Rubber Bullets’ serves as a protest song written in the aftermath of George Floyd’s murder. The album features mixing by Chris Lord-Alge and includes various collaborations and musical influences ranging from traditional blues to social commentary.
