Everspin and Teledyne HiRel partner for aerospace MRAM
Everspin Technologies and Teledyne HiRel Semiconductors have announced a strategic partnership to integrate PERSYST spin-transfer torque magnetic random-access memory (STT-MRAM) into Teledyne HiRel’s memory product lines. The collaboration specifically targets the aerospace and defense sectors, including applications such as avionics, satellite electronics, radar, electronic warfare payloads, and autonomous systems.
The 256Mb PERSYST STT-MRAM offers RAM-like read speeds combined with non-volatility, allowing it to retain data during power losses, system resets, or unexpected interruptions. This technology is intended to simplify system architectures by reducing the need for separate volatile memory, non-volatile storage, and battery-backed backup systems. It can serve as a high-endurance alternative or complement to NOR flash memory.
Teledyne HiRel will provide product guidance, screening flows, qualification documentation, and procurement support to ensure long-term supply and lifecycle management. Shipments of the 256Mb products are expected to begin from Teledyne HiRel’s facility in Q4 2026, with potential future expansions to include 64Mb and 128Mb options.
