Everton and Crystal Palace in talks over Brennan Johnson and Dwight McNeil swap

Everton and Crystal Palace are in negotiations regarding a potential player swap deal involving wingers Brennan Johnson and Dwight McNeil. The discussions aim to facilitate a transfer before the summer window closes.

Brennan Johnson joined Crystal Palace from Tottenham Hotspur in January for a club-record £35 million, but he has struggled to find form, recording no goals in 26 appearances. Everton manager David Moyes is reportedly interested in the Welsh international to bolster his attacking options.

Dwight McNeil, who has been with Everton since 2022, is the primary player linked to a move to Selhurst Park. A similar deal involving McNeil collapsed in the winter transfer window due to incomplete paperwork. Negotiations are currently complicated by a significant gap in how both clubs value the two players, with Palace reluctant to lose Johnson following his high acquisition cost and McNeil entering the final year of his contract.
