Everton Felipe, ex‑São Paulo striker, announces candidacy for Brazil's federal deputy

Former São Paulo and Sport Recife forward Everton Felipe, whose playing career ended early because of recurring injuries, has officially entered politics. He joined the Liberal Party (PL) and will contest a seat in the Chamber of Deputies representing the state of Pernambuco. Felipe is aligned with Flávio Bolsonaro and says he will use his football experience to promote sport, health, and youth opportunities for Pernambucans.
