Despite missing several key targets and facing uncertainty regarding ownership under The Friedkin Group, Dewsbury-Hall urged supporters to focus on the 19 players remaining at the club rather than the missed signings. He noted that the negativity surrounding the transfer deadline was discouraging for the squad.

Manager David Moyes has reportedly moved to insulate the team from external distractions. Following the window's closure, Moyes met with a leadership group—which includes Dewsbury-Hall, James Tarkowski, Jordan Pickford, and James Garner—to establish a standard of accountability, telling the squad that they must “control what we can control” and avoid making excuses for the season ahead.
