Everton transfer deadline day efforts fail to secure new strikers
Everton's attempts to bolster their attacking options during the transfer deadline day resulted in several failed pursuits. The club initially sought a deal for Monaco striker Folarin Balogun, which collapsed after the player declined the move following a failed medical.
Following the Balogun setback, Everton turned to other targets. The club made a late bid for West Ham United striker Taty Castellanos, offering £40 million upfront plus £5 million in add-ons. West Ham rejected the £45 million total package because they were unable to secure a suitable replacement before the window closed.
Everton also explored a move for Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham, but the player declined the opportunity, opting instead to compete for a position under Unai Emery. Additionally, a £10 million loan offer for Manchester United's Joshua Zirkzee was blocked by his parent club due to concerns regarding squad depth.
