Everwild Land Trust awarded New York state conservation grant

The Everwild Land Trust has been awarded a $99,212 Stewardship and Resource Management Grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). This funding is part of a larger $2.7 million allocation distributed to 45 not-for-profit land trusts across the state through the Conservation Partnership Program.

The specific grant will fund a project at the Loomis Goose Creek Preserve in Ashville. Planned improvements include the construction of a universal public access trail system that is ADA compliant, paved parking, improved wayfinding, accessible overlook areas, and audio interpretation services.

The Conservation Partnership Program, administered by the Land Trust Alliance in coordination with the DEC, is supported by the state’s Environmental Protection Fund. This year's grants are intended to support 56 projects aimed at conserving open space, protecting water quality, and promoting climate resilience through land stewardship.
