Evia: Two newborn twins die after premature home birth

Two newborn twins died in Evia, Greece, following a premature home birth on Wednesday morning. The mother, a 29-year-old woman in her seventh month of a twin pregnancy, experienced complications that led to the sudden delivery in the municipality of Eretria.

The infants were transported to the emergency department of Chalkida General Hospital shortly before 11:00 PM. Despite immediate efforts by medical staff to resuscitate them, both infants passed away. The mother remains under medical supervision, though reports indicate her health condition is not a cause for concern.

Authorities have ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Local police are also conducting a preliminary investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
