Evia waterfront redevelopment project begins in Limni
The Region of Central Greece has signed a contract for the redevelopment of the coastal waterfront in Limni, Evia. The project, which covers the area from Proskopeio to the ‘Mela’ building, has a total budget of 2,350,000 euros.
Funded through the Regional Development Program of the Region of Central Greece 2021-2025, the urban and environmental upgrade includes unifying the coastal road with sidewalks, replacing paving with new materials, creating parking zones, and establishing accessible routes for people with disabilities. Other planned improvements include installing modern urban equipment, planting new greenery, and replacing existing lighting with LED systems.
Work is scheduled to begin after September 15 to minimize the impact on local businesses and tourism. Regional Governor Fanis Spanos stated that the project aims to significantly improve the image, functionality, and visitor numbers of the area.
