Evil Dead Burn director rules out a sequel

The sixth installment of the Evil Dead franchise, *Evil Dead Burn*, was released under the direction of French filmmaker Sébastien Vanicek and production by Sam Raimi. Reviewers noted the film’s extreme gore, practical effects and a shift away from the series’ traditional blend of horror and slap‑stick comedy.

In a Variety interview Vanicek said he enjoyed making the movie but has no intention of directing another Evil Dead film. He argued that the franchise works best when each entry brings a fresh vision, adding, “The only one who can do two Evil Dead movies is Sam Raimi.” Although a post‑credits scene hints at future storylines, Vanicek says the studio will handle any continuation and he is moving on to other projects.
