Evil Dead franchise: Upcoming prequel Wrath to feature shorter runtime

The upcoming horror film ‘Evil Dead Wrath’, directed by Francis Galluppi, is reported to have a runtime of approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. This would make it shorter than its predecessor, ‘Evil Dead Burn’, which ran for 1 hour and 50 minutes.

Set in 1972, ‘Evil Dead Wrath’ will serve as a prequel to the original 1981 film. The production, released by Warner Bros. Pictures, is expected to hit theaters in 2028. The film may feature the return of the character Mia, played by Jane Levy.

‘Evil Dead Burn’, directed by Sébastien Vaniček and produced by Sam Raimi, recently became available for streaming on HBO Max. While ‘Evil Dead Burn’ earned over $70 million worldwide, it did not match the $150 million global collection of the previous installment, ‘Evil Dead Rise’.
