Şevketiye Pond project to irrigate 4,200 decares of land

Construction is progressing on the Şevketiye Pond project, which aims to provide irrigation for approximately 4,200 decares of agricultural land in the Şevketiye and Lütfiye neighborhoods of Kestel.

Kestel Mayor Ferhat Erol inspected the ongoing works, which are being carried out by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The project is intended to resolve a long-standing irrigation issue that has affected the region for nearly 40 years. The pond features a foundation height of 20 meters, and concrete work in the reservoir area is currently underway.
