Evogene‑ELEO and Evotec‑QIAGEN unveil AI‑driven biotech collaborations

Evogene Ltd. and South Korean biotech ELEO Inc. have launched a scientific partnership that will use Evogene’s ChemPass AI platform alongside ELEO’s biological expertise to discover oral small‑molecule inhibitors of the PCSK9 pathway, a target for treating high LDL cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. The collaborators aim to create next‑generation oral drugs that could address the current market of injectable PCSK9 therapies, projected to exceed $23 billion by 2035.

Separately, German drug‑discovery firm Evotec SE and U.S.‑based QIAGEN announced a joint effort to integrate QIAGEN’s OmicSoft data libraries with Evotec’s PanHunter analysis software. The integration will provide users with enhanced multi‑omics data insights, supporting target discovery and therapeutic development across biomedical research.

Both collaborations combine artificial‑intelligence‑enabled computational chemistry or data analytics with experimental biology to accelerate drug‑development pipelines and expand market opportunities.
