Evolution consulting identifies meeting technology as a value driver

A new evaluation logic developed by evolution consulting and VR specialist Alice to Bob identifies meeting technology as a key factor in corporate value creation. The research challenges the assumption that communication channels are neutral pipes for information, suggesting instead that the chosen medium directly impacts employee performance and engagement.

Data from the Marketing Center Münster indicates that social presence—the feeling of being truly with others—is significantly higher in virtual reality environments at 73 percent, compared to only 35 percent in platforms like Zoom or Teams. Furthermore, a 2024 study involving the University of Münster found that compared to traditional video conferencing, virtual reality environments increased perceived relational closeness by 58 percent, social presence by 49 percent, and a sense of unity by 22 percent.
