Evoto launches version 8.0 with AI culling and retouching tools

Evoto has announced the release of version 8.0, a major update across its desktop app, mobile app, and Evoto Video. The update introduces several AI-powered tools designed to streamline professional photography workflows, specifically focusing on culling and retouching.

Key features include Story-Based Culling, which organizes images into narrative chapters or groups visually similar images via General Mode to assist with high-volume shoots. The update also brings portrait retouching capabilities directly into DaVinci Resolve and introduces mobile tethering support.

Additionally, the release includes a new Asset Hub and marketplace for presets and assets. The company has pivoted its focus toward tools that optimize tedious manual tasks, such as skin refinement and automated image selection, rather than purely generative AI applications.
