Turkey launches EVREN national artificial intelligence platform
The Presidency of Defence Industries in Turkey has launched EVREN, a national artificial intelligence platform designed to bolster technological independence and data sovereignty. The platform integrates datasets, AI models, and high-performance computing capabilities into a single environment, targeting defense companies, tech firms, academics, and students.
To ensure security, all data processing occurs on high-performance GPU infrastructure located within Turkey, preventing sensitive information from being transferred to foreign cloud services. The technical setup includes 64 Nvidia H200 GPUs, providing significant computational power for model training and inference.
EVREN operates on a contribution-based credit model rather than traditional paid subscriptions. Users can earn credits by uploading datasets, labeling data, or sharing trained models, which can then be used to access the platform’s GPU pool. The platform currently provides access to 11 open-weights large language models and supports computer vision tasks such as object detection and image segmentation. Access is managed through the e-Devlet identity authentication system.
