Ewa Błaszczyk discusses family tragedies and her daughters' lives
Polish actress Ewa Błaszczyk has shared details regarding the profound family tragedies that shaped her life and her daughters. Following the death of her husband, writer Jacek Janczarski, in 2000, her daughter Aleksandra fell into a coma after choking on a pill, a condition she has lived with for over two decades.
Błaszczyk discussed the challenges of raising her twin daughters, Marianna and Aleksandra, amidst these crises. She noted the importance of ensuring that Marianna did not lose her childhood to the medical emergencies surrounding her sister. Błaszczyk credited advice from specialist Professor Franz Gerstenbrandt, which encouraged her to maintain a connection with her healthy child despite the intensive care required for Aleksandra.
Marianna Janczarska, now 32, has pursued a career in the arts and journalism, having graduated from the Warsaw Film School. Błaszczyk observed that the early loss of her father and the trauma surrounding her sister's condition have likely contributed to Marianna's maturity.
