Ewa Wachowicz shares culinary tip for enhancing traditional broth

Chef and restaurateur Ewa Wachowicz has shared a culinary tip to enhance the flavor of traditional broth (rosół) by adding a whole apple during the cooking process. Inspired by Pakistani cuisine, where fruit is often used to balance savory flavors, this method involves adding a whole, unpeeled apple to the pot.

According to the technique, using tart varieties like Antonówka or Szara Reneta can help balance the richness of the meat and vegetable broth. The apple should be simmered with the soup and then removed before serving. This addition is intended to provide a subtle sweetness and a slightly oriental flavor profile, complementing broths made from poultry, beef, duck, or goose.
