Ewald Wolf becomes Liechtenstein's first road cycling World Champion

Ewald Wolf, a 71-year-old cyclist from Vaduz, has become Liechtenstein’s first road cycling World Champion. Competing in the 70-to-74 age category, Wolf secured the Gran Fondo title in Niseko, Japan.

The 76.2-kilometer course in Hokkaido featured 1,572 meters of elevation. Wolf secured his victory by launching a decisive attack during the first climb at the 27-kilometer mark, allowing him to maintain a solo breakaway for approximately 50 kilometers to finish ahead of his competitors.
