He has repeatedly pitched ideas for a second season to series creator Deborah Chow, noting that he has “a few years yet” before reaching the age of Alec Guinness’s portrayal. In a recent Esquire interview, McGregor described the missing decade as a chance to explore new missions, allies and enemies while keeping the established Star Wars lore intact. Although Lucasfilm has not green‑lit a sequel, McGregor remains confident that a follow‑up could eventually happen.
