EWTN Noticias honored by Peruvian bishops for Santo Toribio report

EWTN Noticias has received a special recognition from the bishops of Peru for its reportage titled ‘Lima celebra a Santo Toribio’. The distinction was presented during the 2026 Cardenal Juan Landázuri Ricketts National Social Communication Award ceremony held on August 20 at the San José de Cluny Spirituality House.

Abel Camasca, the EWTN Noticias correspondent in Peru, noted that the report on Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo is part of a seven-part series marking the jubilee year of his canonization. The series explores the legacy of the second Archbishop of Lima and patron of the Latin American episcopate, highlighting his influence in both Spain and Peru.

Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo (1538–1606) was canonized in 1726 and remains a significant religious figure in the region.
