Ex-Albanian international Olgerd Muka detained in Dijon on alleged cocaine trafficking

Former Albanian midfielder Olgerd Muka, 46, was arrested in the French city of Dijon after a ten‑day police surveillance operation. French authorities say he was caught distributing small quantities of cocaine in a public park together with another Albanian national.

Muka, who played for several top Albanian clubs and earned two caps for the national team, told a judge that severe financial difficulties and unemployment after retiring from football had driven him to the alleged crime. The case is now before a French court, and Muka remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The arrest has drawn attention in both France and Albania, sparking discussion on social media about the fall of a former national‑team player into alleged drug trafficking.
