Ex-deputy Thiego Raimundo de Oliveira Santos indicted for arms trafficking

Former state deputy Thiego Raimundo de Oliveira Santos, known as ‘TH Joias’, has been indicted by the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) for participating in a criminal organization linked to the Comando Vermelho (CV) gang. The indictment, received by the TRF2, alleges that Santos acted as an intermediary for the sale of drugs, firearms, and specialized anti-drone equipment imported from China.

Investigations reveal that the group offered equipment capable of disabling unmanned aerial vehicles, with the cheapest options priced at R$ 750,000. These items were reportedly procured through a company owned by Luiz Eduardo Cunha Gonçalves, a former aide to the deputy. Evidence suggests the organization also conducted business with rival factions, including Amigos dos Amigos (ADA) and Terceiro Comando Puro (TCP), involving the sale of cocaine and diverted firearms.

In addition to arms and drug trafficking, the MPF alleges that the group provided intelligence on police operations and that Santos attempted to influence public appointments for gang associates. Santos faces charges including criminal organization, illegal arms trade, smuggling, and active corruption.
