Ex-judge Edinaldo Muniz walks with aid after Brazil bridge collapse

On 5 June, the newly inaugurated Frei Paulino Baldassari bridge in Sena Madureira, Brazil, collapsed, killing several people and injuring many others. Former judge and digital content creator Edinaldo Muniz, 54, was among those severely hurt when the structure fell while he was filming the bridge’s defects. The bridge, opened in December 2023 at a cost of roughly R$ 36 million, had been closed for preventive reasons the day before the disaster after engineers detected cracks and structural damage.

Nearly two months later, on 1 August, Muniz posted a photo on social media showing himself standing with the assistance of a walker, indicating the start of his motor‑recovery. He remains hospitalized under continuous medical supervision while authorities continue to investigate the causes of the collapse.
