EXCEED Energy launches AI data center development in Japan
EXCEED Energy, part of the EXGROW Group, has announced the launch of a new business focused on the development and asset management of AI-oriented data centers in Japan. The company aims to provide infrastructure, including power, land, and telecommunications, specifically designed for high-density GPU server installations.
The company is targeting two main scales of development. For large-scale facilities ranging from 10MW to 100MW, EXCEED Energy is currently in discussions with international investors, primarily from the Middle East. These facilities are being designed to support liquid cooling technologies to manage the high heat output of AI servers. Additionally, the company is preparing construction for smaller high-voltage facilities with an IT load of approximately 1.5MW at multiple domestic locations.
Leveraging its expertise in solar power and energy storage development, EXCEED Energy will also offer advisory services to data center operators and investors. These services include negotiating power supply conditions with utility companies, analyzing reception conditions, and exploring power procurement methods.
