Excel Entertainment to Distribute Malayalam Vampire Thriller 'Half' Across North India

The Malayalam-language vampire action thriller Half, directed by Samjad and co‑written with Praveen Viswanath, was showcased in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto International Film Festival. The film follows two half‑blood vampires on a violent hunt and blends high‑octane road chases with revenge drama.

Excel Entertainment, led by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, has acquired the Hindi‑language rights and will present and distribute the movie across North India in partnership with AA Films. This marks Excel’s first foray into Malayalam cinema. The production, shot over 117 days in Rajasthan, Kerala and Kazakhstan, will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, with action choreography by Very Tri Yulisman and no slow‑motion sequences.

The acquisition expands the film’s reach beyond its regional origins, positioning it for a broader Indian audience.
