Excom Global President defends high marriage income standards
Seiji Nishimura, President of Excom Global Co., Ltd., has sparked discussion on social media regarding marriage standards and wealth. His comments follow a television segment on ‘Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai’ where model Rie Ayase faced criticism for stating she seeks a marriage partner with an annual income of over 50 million yen to support a family.
Nishimura defended the high expectations, describing the desire for such an income as ‘sensible’ rather than unrealistic. He argued that after taxes and social security, a 50-million-yen income does not equate to extreme wealth in Tokyo, noting that maintaining a high-end lifestyle in the city remains challenging even at that level.
Nishimura criticized those bashing the model, labeling such reactions as ‘the mindset of the poor’ driven by envy. He encouraged individuals to pursue their high standards in marriage hunting rather than being discouraged by social pressure.
