Executive assistant recruitment agencies are increasingly focused on long-term retention and quality of hire to combat high turnover rates. According to Vimcal’s 2026 profession study, approximately 57.8 percent of executive assistants currently support two or more leaders, a factor that contributes to burnout and misalignment of expectations.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that between 2025 and 2035, there will be roughly 314,400 annual openings for secretaries and administrative assistants, most of which are back-fills rather than new positions. To address these challenges, specialized agencies are utilizing vetting methodologies and work-style matching to ensure better alignment between CEOs and their assistants. Staffing industry data from 2025 indicates that 31 percent of leaders now prioritize ‘quality of hire’ as their primary return on investment metric.
