Exeter Chiefs and Saracens secure key player contract extensions
Exeter Chiefs have completed the signing of South African lock André Goedhals from the Airlink Pumas. The 22-year-old, who is English-qualified and holds a British passport, has signed a deal running until the summer of 2030. Although originally scheduled to join the club next season, an early release from the Currie Cup side allowed him to arrive in Devon ahead of schedule to provide depth in the second row.
In other Premiership Rugby news, Saracens captain Maro Itoje has reportedly agreed to a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2029. The decision follows interest from several French Top 14 clubs, including Union Bordeaux-Bègles and Perpignan. Staying in England ensures Itoje remains eligible for England selection under current RFU rules. The 31-year-old has previously indicated a desire to retire at age 35.
Additionally, Gloucester has secured the future of England international Will Joseph. The 24-year-old has signed a new contract extension following an impressive start to the season, ensuring his continued presence at Kingsholm.
