Exeter Chiefs defeat Cardiff Rugby 33-28 in pre-season friendly
Exeter Chiefs secured a 33-28 pre-season victory over Cardiff Rugby at Cardiff Arms Park. Despite a difficult start involving heavy rain, strong winds, and falling two converted tries behind in the first 10 minutes, the Chiefs staged a comeback.
Cardiff initially took the lead through tries from Taine Basham and Ben Thomas. However, Exeter responded with a three-try burst before halftime, featuring scores from Greg Fisilau, Harvey Skinner, and an interception try by Stephen Varney.
Exeter director of rugby Rob Baxter praised the squad's character and resilience during the match. The victory serves as a final test for the Chiefs before their upcoming PREM Rugby season opener against Gloucester at Sandy Park.
