Exeter Chiefs suffer 31-28 defeat to Harlequins

Exeter Chiefs director of rugby Rob Baxter criticized his team's decision-making and defensive discipline following a 31-28 loss to Harlequins at Sandy Park. The defeat leaves the Chiefs with only one win from their first five Gallagher Premiership fixtures.

Harlequins established an early 14-point lead through tries from Cadan Murley and Nick David. Although Exeter responded with scores from Harry Wilson and Nika Abuladze to level the match before halftime, and Will Butt later put the hosts ahead, Harlequins regained control. Lucas Schmid scored twice for the visitors to shift the momentum back in their favor.

Despite late tries from Jack Kenningham and Olly Woodburn for the Chiefs, Harlequins secured the victory. Baxter noted that avoidable errors early in the game made the contest too easy for their opponents.
