Exeter Chiefs winger Campbell Ridl faces long injury layoff
Exeter Chiefs winger Campbell Ridl is set to miss a significant portion of the upcoming Premiership Rugby season following a serious knee injury. The 21-year-old sustained damage to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and cartilage during a pre-season match against Scarlets.
Director of rugby Rob Baxter indicated that the recovery period is expected to last between six and nine months, with the possibility of a longer absence depending on complications. Ridl, an England Under-20 international, had a strong previous season, scoring 17 tries in 24 appearances.
The injury adds to the club's current setbacks, as Italy lock Andrea Zambonin is also expected to be unavailable until November due to a shoulder injury.
