Exeter Northcott Theatre to premiere ‘Made in Liverpool’ play

The Exeter Northcott Theatre has announced the world premiere of ‘Made in Liverpool’, a new play by Gerard McCarthy. Directed by Artistic Director Martin Berry, the production is scheduled to run from 16 June to 4 July 2027, with an official opening on 24 June.

The drama focuses on the life of Stuart Sutcliffe, the artist and original member of The Beatles often called the ‘fifth Beatle’. The narrative explores Sutcliffe’s relationship with John Lennon and his mother’s efforts to maintain his true identity against the growing legend following his death at age 21.

This production is part of the theatre’s 60th anniversary celebrations. Following its run in Exeter, the play is expected to embark on a UK tour and potentially transfer to London.
