Health experts distinguish exhaustion from fatigue

Health experts are distinguishing between simple fatigue and chronic exhaustion. Physiotherapist Julia Wohlfarth notes that exhaustion is a symptom rather than a diagnosis, often characterized by an inability to recover even after sleep or holidays. It can manifest as feeling physically empty or mentally restless and can significantly impact quality of life.

To combat these feelings, experts suggest identifying personal 'energy drainers' and implementing short, one-minute strategies. Other recovery methods discussed include the use of power naps—short daytime sleeps taken before entering deep sleep to boost concentration and mood—and ensuring proper electrolyte balance. Specifically, maintaining adequate levels of sodium and potassium through whole foods like vegetables, nuts, and potatoes is recommended over processed supplements.

Additionally, traditional approaches such as the use of Astragalus (Huang Qi) are noted for supporting physical resilience, while modern nutritional science emphasizes the importance of nutrient supply in maintaining energy levels.
