EXIT Festival has officially announced its return to its traditional home at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia. Following a period of absence due to political, security, and financial pressures, the organizers confirmed that a special edition of the festival will take place in July 2027.

This decision follows the recent parliamentary election victory of a student-led movement in Serbia. The festival organizers stated that while a full-scale comeback is planned for 2028 to allow for necessary preparations, the decision to accelerate the return was driven by overwhelming public demand and messages of support from fans.

EXIT founder and CEO Dušan Kovačević noted that the festival had previously faced significant challenges for its support of student protests, including the detention of his brother. He attributed the return to the courage and perseverance of Serbian students, stating, “thanks to the courage, determination and incredible perseverance of Serbian students, that moment has finally arrived.”
