EXL Service Holdings completes iMerit acquisition to build end‑to‑end enterprise AI platform

EXL Service Holdings (NASDAQ: EXLS) announced the completion of its acquisition of iMerit, a provider of AI model training, evaluation and reinforcement‑learning services. The deal creates an end‑to‑end AI platform that combines EXL’s enterprise data and AI expertise with iMerit’s technology and foundation‑model relationships, aimed at helping clients move from pilot projects to production‑scale AI, especially in regulated industries where compliance and domain knowledge are critical.

As part of the transaction, iMerit founder and CEO Radha Ramaswami Basu joined EXL as Executive Vice President, Head of iMerit, and became a member of the company’s executive committee. EXL Chairman and CEO Rohit Kapoor said, “This acquisition is a transformational pivot for EXL, deepening our vertically specialized AI capabilities and expanding our reach into high‑growth AI technology sectors.” Basu added, “The next generation of enterprise AI will be defined not by the models organizations choose, but by how effectively they can deploy them in real‑world business environments.”
