Ex‑Liberal consultants Mark and Shani Jones steer One Nation’s state election campaign

Mark Jones and Shani Jones, a married former Liberal staff duo, launched Camelot Consulting in January 2026 as a lobby and political advisory firm based in a studio apartment in inner‑city Sydney. Within weeks the firm secured work for the right‑wing One Nation party, providing campaign strategy for its South Australian state election, where One Nation incurred more than AUD 150,000 in fees to Camelot and won four lower‑house seats.

Camelot’s focus now turns to One Nation’s upcoming state elections in New South Wales and Victoria. The couple’s background includes Mark’s recent role as a tobacco lobbyist and Shani’s experience as a media adviser to the NRMA and as a former Young Liberals director. Their shift from the Liberal Party to advising One Nation marks a notable realignment ahead of the March 2026 NSW poll and the November 2026 Victorian poll, positioning them as key strategists for a party seen as the Liberals’ greatest threat in those contests.
